Myself (Desiree) and my husband James (Jim) are a small breeder settled on 28 acres in beautiful Northern Wisconsin. Our story began over 15 years ago, while training at a Dog Training facility. I was seeing many German Shepherds with poor temperaments, health, and structure. The poor breedings of German Shepherds was very concerning and needed to halt. It was rampant, so I made the decision to breed this amazing breed, to stem the tide of poor breeding’s. To restore and preserve the German Shepherd of my youth.
Jim and I set out to find the foundation of Reicherthaus. Devised from My German grandmother’s maiden name, Reichert. After five years of searching, we found her, our Addei. A dog from old West German Working lines. We started training, health testing, and earning titles. She had great successes earning well over 50 titles. Our Great Pyrenees journey began with a wonderful rescue, Bonnie. Bonnie was an amazing calm tempered, confident, stoic dog. This encouraged us to seek others who also were touched by this incredible breed of Livestock Guardian. After joining the national club, we decided it was time to purchase the foundation of Timberbluffs. Coming from one of the top kennels in the country, we welcomed Bre, she too went through health testing, training, showing and trialing. We were thrilled with the success of our foundation. So our story continues.
